The challenge

The part has openings on three sides, so the mold needs slides that move in and out every cycle without flash or wear. Getting the slides, wear plates and locks to fit is where a build like this takes time.

Our approach

  • Designed in SolidWorks, programmed in Cimatron and machined on our VMCs.
  • Slides and wedge locks ground to fit, with wear plates that can be replaced.
  • Core and cavity spotted and fitted in the tool room before the first trial.
  • Trialed on our own presses, so corrections happened in the same building.

The result

The mold went from design to its first trial within our own tool room and press shop, and its slides run without flash at the shut-offs.

Our process

Our Roadmap

  1. Consultation & RFQ

Every project starts with a consultation call, so we understand your part, timeline, and budget clearly, upfront.

  2. DFM & Material Selection

We review your design for manufacturability and recommend materials suited to application, cost, and finish.

  3. Mold Design & Flow Analysis

Our engineering team optimizes mold design and material flow to ensure part quality and manufacturability.

  4. Tooling & T0 Sampling

Once tooling is built, we pull first trial samples to check fit, function, and finish before mass production.

  5. Production & Delivery

Once approved, we proceed with production and conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with agreed specifications.
